Friends, all of us know that while leaving his body Sai Baba Ji had urged people to look after each if they really wanted to serve him....
Sai Baba Ji had stated ;;
Atleast when I had a body you could come and serve me....You were able to touch my feet....You were able to offer me food and could look after my comforts....
Now since my body would no longer there to be served, I urge you to serve all other bodies around you as these are my bodies only....
And he further reasoned that ;;
I reside in all of these bodies so whoever you serve you are actually serving me and with that breadth of vision you would truly serve me so experience me in all around you....
Friends, I bring to you today a small story that exemplifies the golden words of our dear God; In the middle of the scorching summers, a boy was selling bouquets in the blistering heat and ironically he was barefooted....
A gentleman, who passed by was very sad to see his plight so he bought a pair of shoes from a nearby shop and offered the same to that boy, telling him that he should wear those shoes while coming out in this burning heat....
The boy took the shoes a little reluctantly and wore it right there. His face was now beaming with happiness & relief (i.e. from the blisters).... Feeling gratified, he held that man' hand and asked him : "Are you God?"
Looking quite nervous, that man immediately pulled his hand back and while touching his ears, he said : "No son - I am not God."
The boy smiled again and said "Then you most certainly be the "God's Friend". Right!!!!
Completely taken aback by this reaction from the boy, the man curiously asked him : "Son, what makes you say that ??"
And the boy very innocently answered : "Sir, it was only yesterday night that I prayed to my God to get me some footwear because it used to hurt me badly to step out barefooted in this blazing sun but then I couldn't help as I had no money to afford the same"....So, today when you brought the shoes, I instantly recognised you; that you can either be the "God" or the "God's Friend" having come to help me.... The man smiled & kissed that boy's forehead and simply said - "Take Care & God Bless"....
Quite overwhelmed (almost dumbfounded) by the boy's innocuous remarks, that gentleman slowly starts walking on, pondering over the boy's statement and realising that it was not a hard task indeed to be the "God's Friend"....
After reading this quite a thought-provoking story somewhere, Sai Baba Ji's prophetic words resonated that in order to serve the God we need to look after the God's people (our fellow beings) first and it would be no less than serving the God thyself....And that it was after all no hard task being God's Friend....
And if we really think of it, we can all be the "God's Friends" and in order to do so, all we have to do is, to just lift ourselves above from this purely self-centric (& almost selfish) life-style that we witness, follow & practice today, a life-cycle so choked-up with our own issues & concerns that we do not have the time to think that even a small help from us could mean so very much for many around us who can't even afford to make their ends meet....or sometimes we simply overlook the fact that a little hand-holding from our end could mean a world of good for the needy....And at times, we have our own hardships taking-up so much of our attention that we just tend to ignore the graver hardships of the lesser privileged....
See, in all kinds of civilisations, the societies, who have thrived have generally been the ones where people have taken good care of each others' needs and who emphasised on the all-round & collective growth of all the members, rich & poor, the elite & the under-privileged.... The societies and the nations who have been more successful & more prosperous were the ones who practised compassion.... because it is necessary for each one of us to develop kindness & compassion towards our fellow beings in order to protect the basic fibre of any civilisation and any society....and that is ""Co-existence with Co-operation"".... So friends, while we must continue to focus on the pursuits of our lives however let's not turn a blind eye towards the needs of many around us for whom even a small little help from us can prove to be vital (to their survival) or can prove to be life-saving at times and can make us good humans i.e. the "God's Friends"....
Wishing to see more God's Friends on this planet Earth.... God Bless....
GOD BLESS....
